Sunlight Saunas are "GUARANTEED TOXIN FREE"
Sunlight Saunas are manufactured at our production plant in China under the strictest manufacturing conditions, (ISO9001-2000 - Quality Assurance) and (TÜV- Production Safety Standards). We make our saunas from start to finish. We cut the logs, we kiln dry the wood, we hand pick the finished wood for esthetics, we make the Solocarbon heaters (APEX Report - no off gassing), we make the electrical circuitry (RoHS certified - no harmful components), we build the saunas, we seal package the saunas in heavy-duty cardboard and we ship the saunas in shipping containers, which contain only Sunlight Saunas.
At no time are Sunlight Saunas ever sprayed or impregnated with any toxic materials!
Upon importation into Canada our saunas are not fumigated; the factory sealed, heavy-duty cardboard packaging is not opened until it reaches the end customer.
There may be some misunderstanding as to products being imported into Canada and the restrictions on theses products as far as fumigating is required. Here are the Canadian restrictions:
The Canadian Food Inspection
Agency (CFIA) is responsible for mandating the requirements governing wood
imports into Canada. Directive D-98-08, effective July 24, 2006 (6th revision) states,
"This directive provides
the requirements for the entry for all wood packaging materials including
dunnage, pallets or crating made from non-manufactured wood entering Canada from
all areas except the continental United States (US).....".

Approved Methods of Treatment for Entry into Canada
1. Heat Treatment
All wood packaging materials must be heated to a minimum internal wood core temperature of 56°C for 30 minutes. Kiln-drying, chemical pressure impregnation, or other treatments may be used as a means of achieving heat treatment provided that the above temperature and time requirements are met.
Or
2. Fumigation
All of the wood products used in the construction of a Sunlight Saunas Inc. sauna are kiln-dried without any chemical pressure impregnation!!!
Sunlight Saunas are shipped in heavy sealed
cardboard packaging. Even if there were unnecessary fumigation of the
packaging material, the saunas inside the sealed containers would not be
affected.
As for the wooden saunas - they are manufactured with kiln-dried woods and thus are considered furniture and are NEVER fumigated. We have a ruling from the CFIA attesting to our saunas as being furniture and not subject to fumigation.
